Saturday December 3 – Sierra Nevada Mountains

                I went with Rachel G, Whitney, and Elizabeth to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and we were just planning to hike but there were not trails because there was snow. It was pretty but there were clouds off and on. We only stayed there for a couple hours and then when we got back we did souvenir shopping. I got quite a bit done; I think I got everyone something. After Adam, one of his friends I had not met before, and I went to a bar and got a bottle of wine to share then went to Camborio. It was a cold walk and I ended up going to bed at 6:00. I think that was the latest that I have stayed out in Spain.

Friday December 2 – Baños Árabes

                Today I went with Rachel G, Whitney, and Elizabeth to los baños árabes (Arabic baths) where we got to go in waters of different temperatures, a steam room for an hour and a half and a 15 minute massage for only 22 Euros. There were three pools of water, cold, warm, and hot. We were supposed to go from warm to hot to cold to the steam room and then repeat. Going from the hot pool to the cold pool was kind of hard but if you went quickly it was not that bad, and when you got to the steam room it was super relaxing. They served us delicious tea and the massage was great but went too fast, it did not seem like 15 minutes. I felt so relaxed for a long time and had a time wanting to do anything because I was so relaxed. I mainly sat in front of the television and watched American shows dubbed in Spanish.

Thursday November 1 – Homework Assignments

                I have a lot of homework this weekend and I need to do a lot of other things for when I get back to the United States. I bought my bus ticket to Madrid for my flight home which is the same one that a lot of API students are taking as well. I got the last seat on a bus at 2:00 in the morning to the Madrid airport and it should be arriving at 7:30 which is good because my flight is at 11:25. One of my assignments was to watch a Spanish movie from a list my teacher gave us so I watched on called “Flores del otro mundo” (Flowers of Another World) and it was bad, there was no plot, no beginning nor end and I had no idea what I was watching. I am starting to see two trends in Spanish movies: One is there is always multiple sex scenes, most of them randomly and two is there tends to be little to no plot.

Wednesday November 30 – Volunteering Again in Almanjáyar

                Today has been a good day, the two classes that I had we watched movies and I thought that both were good. I had my iPod with me and Katie M took it when I was searching for a song and she put the song on that I was looking for, Just the Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra, and we had a good laugh because it was not on the screen when she took it. Also walking home from class it just felt like a good day and walking through the streets of Granada listening to Frank Sinatra makes me feel like I am in a movie.

                I volunteered again in Almanjáyar and again the kids were just as bad as the first time. All of them were yelling, hitting, and disrespecting everyone.  I also found out that I forgot how to do long division and multiplication but then I remembered after someone reminded me. Whitney and I worked on our presentation over Galicia at Burger King after dinner for a bit and then I got to bed as soon as I could, which was around 1:00.

Tuesday November 29 – Working on a Project

                I did not do much today except work on a power point project for my Spanish civilization and culture class over Galicia that I am presenting Thursday.

Monday November 28 – Catching Up on Things

                I had so many problems with my computer, first the Mozilla Firefox crashed, causing my computer to freeze so I shut it down incorrectly. Then I restarted it but the outlet that my computer was in shorted out and it shut off incorrectly again. Then I restarted it again and it froze so I shut it off incorrectly again and then it did that about two more times, so my computer wasted about at least an hour of my time. Finally I was able to work on things after lunch.
